Latest Version: 23.05.14 installed but does not open

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)

I installed the latest version 23.05.14 and it does not open.

This is a duplicate of several others. If you search a little you can find them. When typing this message, the preview pane would have showed them. The new version has higher GPU requirements: it must be compatible with Direct3D 11. Your GPU is probably too old. You can run dxdiag.exe to check it. See

Because the newest version is not compatible with my computer, I am trying to reinstall the older version (which was working fine). But the ShotCut page only offers now the newest version. How can I download again the older version? Thank you.

Thank you so much for your tip. I am downloading version 22.12.21. A pity I cannot use a more advanced version of your wonderful video editor. Anyhow, it is magnificent and TOTALLY FREE.
