I don’t exactly know how to describe my problem, but when I drag and image onto the timeline from my file manager, it imports on the screen smaller than it should, not resizing itself to fit the screen. I close and reopen it and the layer under it gets resized to smaller than it should and the one above it is sized to fit. my best guess is that this is an issue with transparency because I used Chroma Key: Simple on one. I am running version 26.8.1 on Windows 11.
That is weird, and I do not reproduce it. First, restart Shotcut if you have not and try again. Secondly, what is your project video mode? Click Output in the top, left corner of Timeline and then view Properties. Take a screen shot of that and paste it here. (Maybe some very weird combination of resolution and aspect ratio causes this.)
Does the problem occur if you start a new project with the Video Mode set to some 1920x1080?
Finally, when there have been weird problems like this, some people reported a complete uninstall and reinstall fixed it.
By default, I have it open to 1080p 60fps for everything, the image with the highest resolution seems to take priority and shrink the image with lower resolution. then it tries to fix itself when i use Size, Position, & Rotate. but its cropped horizontally. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn’t seem to work. I will try restarting my computer after uninstalling to see if that works.
Edit: That did not work and the problem remains.
Use 1920x1080 for 16:9, not 1080x1920., There are preset VIdeo Modes for this!!
I think that did it. Turns out i was the one doing it wrong. this entire time i thought I was using a preset, guess i forgot. Thanks anyway lol
