When I move a clip on the timeline left or right with the mouse, it moves very fast and I cannot control it. I can’t move the mouse slow enough to hold it steady along the timeline. I am using version 21 02 27 and I have proxy turned on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should scale down the timeline so that you can easily position it with the mouse. For more precise operation you can adjust clips numerically 
@ronmullet I don’t think it is a issue with Shotcut.
I think it is a sensitivity issue with your mouse.
So try to change the settings on the computer relating tot he mouse sensitivity or try to restart your computer

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. I also reloaded Shotcut but haven’t tried it yet.

I found the reason this was happening. I had the (scrub while dragging) preset turned on in the timeline.
