Why use Snap instead of AppImage? Since a lot of testing is being done here, AppImage makes it easy to instantly try new versions for performance improvements and new features, or try old versions to see where a feature broke.
The link you included seems pretty straight-forward to get Snap enabled. But use these instructions from the Shotcut home page to install Shotcut itself… click the GNU/Linux option to see snap command line:
