How to prevent video from shrinking when split from playhead?

What is your operating system?
Windows 11
What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)?
Shotcut version 24.04.28

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
the video plays normal until i split at playhead, where the video shrinks except at the second half of the project. Anyway i can undo this and prevent it rom happening again?

Hi @H3adTak3r

Apparently, you made the Split in the middle of a keyframe animation. That’s what is causing this shrinking behavior.

To prevent this in the future:

  • Move the Playhead at the position you want to make the Split.
  • Add a keyframe at that position.
  • Move the Playhead 1 frame forward.
  • Split.

Also is it normal for the zoom to go to 0.1%? this happened after closing and reopening shotcut

Je ferais plutĂ´t ceci.

  • DĂ©placez la tĂŞte Ă  la position ou vous souhaitez couper le clip
  • Reculez d’une image
  • Ajoutez une image-clĂ©
  • Avancez d’une image
  • Coupez

By doing this, you cut the clip one frame too late.
I would rather do this.

  • Move the Playhead at the position you want to make the Split.

  • Add a keyframe at that position.
  • Move the Playhead 1 frame forward.

Un frame ne fait pas une grosse différence en général, mais si la position de la coupe est cruciale, il vaut mieux procéder de votre façon.

One frame doesn’t usually make a big difference, but if the position of the split is critical, it’s best to do it your way.

No, that doesn’t look normal. I reproduced it.
After re-launching the project, Shotcut adds a ghost keyframe at the very end of the left side clip.
