How to fade IN 'from opacity'

  1. starting with opaque video
  2. trying to fade in another (not opaque) video

but it always darkens for a moment when the second video starts to enter. Fixable?
thanks
Rick

You can just move the 2 clips over each other at the ends a little bit. This will fade out the first one and fade in the 2. one at the same time. If you fade out without overlapping of course it darkens the video clip at the end.

Did you click the check box in the filter to fade opacity?

quick! thanks
yes, but this is fading in (under an opaque video) and checking the box doesn’t seem to help much

Is the non-opaque video on a higher track than the opaque video? And the fade-in is complete before the lower track runs out of video?

That doesn’t work.

The upper track gets priority.
The upper track needs to have the fade.

Absolutely!! Thanks so much kagsundaram - I had it backwards.
works great now
