How to add selected part of video to timeline without losing Focus

Hi
The question is in topic name

For example, i have 30 min video. I want split it into 20 small video parts
If i set In and Out and press ‘A’ - i lost focus from Source video; and focus move to timeline
It’s inconvenient!
How to prevent focus losing ?

This is where you use the playlist for getting all of your 20 small video clips.
Once in the playlist if you need further editing, you can transfer them to the playlist.
If you don’t need to do any further editing, you can export from playlist without using the timeline.

Also, you can return to the Source player simply by pressing the Esc key.

When I first started on Shotcut, my first hour was frustrating, until I discovered Folder ==> Playlist ==> Timeline ==> Export as a workflow.

Then I came to realize that the Playlist is my friend.
