How from from Fisheye to 180 Vid with half showing black

Hello,
I use fisheye-lens input and need a 180° video to play in a 360°-application (VR-headset). The half backpart of the result shall stay undefined (=black). Is this possible - how?
I tried to convert the high resolution fisheye using filter “fisheye” with 8k pixel as project-settings. That plays nearly fine as video (detailed high res depiction of reality in the VR-headset) - but virtualilly wraps the 180 degrees to 360 degrees - not usable! Any following trials to use some kind of filter like “rectilinear to equirecangular” do not work - mostly resulting in too small resolutions. Proposals or ideas what to try are very welcome,
