another problem. I do not see those eye symbols. All I see is lockpads and mute/unmute buttons.

I just realised that you were talking about Audio, not Video, tracks.

Just mute all the audio tracks (loudspeaker symbol) that you do not want to be included.

No, Shotcut is designed only to use video tracks that are visible and audio tracks that are unmuted. Any other tracks are ignored.
