Home screen filled with random thumbnails from editing video

While editing a video I must have hit something by mistake, shotcut filled my home screen with random thumbnails form the video, I am unable to delete the thumbnails, they have taken the space of my icons and I am unable to select from the home screen. I tried to return the computer to an earlier date, when the computer rebooted…still had a screen full of thumbnails!! I am using a laptop, unsure of version of shotcut, it was downloaded one year ago.

I’m not sure I understand. What part of the home screen is filled with these thumbnails?
Can you take a screen capture of your Shotcut window and share it here on the forum?

Perhaps you’ve inadvertently exported an sequence of image simply by choosing Desktop as the destination.
In this case, all the exported images are ‘loose’ on the Desktop and not in a folder.
All you have to do is delete them without deleting the shortcuts and other files on your Desktop. Good luck!
(This mishap happened to me several years ago. I don’t want to go through it again!)

Thank you for your reply. The thumbnails will not delete.

You think you can’t delete these files because others appear underneath. Your screenshots show that there are at least 1500 of them.
Open File Explorer > C: > Users > [UserNam] > Desktop
In the search bar, enter the word: thumb- , to search only the thumb-0… files you wish to delete. The search may take some time, depending on the number of images.
Then select all ( Ctrl + A) and delete.
