Help needed to rotate, and change aspect ratio (stretch)

Hi there,

I’m new to this but wondered if a kind person could help me.

My son’s nursery upload vidoes of him which I’d like to keep. Unfortunately they are messed up when passing through the app that is used to send them.

They are shot on an ipad, in portrait mode but when I get them they have been rotated 90 degrees and stretched so they are still in portrait mode.

So what I need to do is stretch it back or change the aspect ratio so it looks like landscape instead of portrait, then rotate it 90 degrees so it is back to portrait without any distortion.

Pretty hard to explain. Hope that makes sense and someone is able to help.

I guess you need to use Rotate and scale filter (add clip to timeline, add Rotate and scale) and experiment with it. Good luck :slight_smile:

Yes, I’ve used the rotate and scale filter for the rotation part. Then, the only way I can get the AR to look correct is by changing it in properties. From 9:16 to 9:48 looks about right.
That’ll do for my needs tbh. Just thought there might be a more accurate, simpler way of doing it!
