Help needed to achieve super-smooth edges of ellipses

I’m trying to make a background video for an upcoming project. The background will feature slowly moving elliptical shapes - 3 of them, each a different colour.

The problem is that the edges of the ellipses are very blocky, not smooth:

Here’s the attempted video:

I used three SC tracks. The top two tracks have 2 filters: a Mask:Simple shape filter and a SPR filter:

The SPR filter is zoomed in at about 170-180%.

Anyone got any ideas how I could re-make the video so the ellipses have super-smooth edges?

Glaxnimate is the more appropriate tool for this.

Thank you. I must begin to get to grips with Glax!

Here’s what 2 Glaximate generated ellipses look like in Shotcut (zoom = 100%)

Perfect! Far superior. Thanks @musicalbox. I must find out how to make those in Glaxinmate. :upside_down_face: Pardon my ignorance but would it be best to animate the ellipses in Glax, or import the static ellipses into SC and animate them with SPR keyframes?

Glaxnimate, because it uses vector drawing while SPR is raster (pixel)-based.

Great, thanks! :+1:

I’d say Glaxnimate too.
I tried with 2 static circles of about 4000px by 4000px from Glaxnimate with the intention of animate them in Shotcut. But it turns out they made editing and previewing very laggy.
When animating the same two 4000px circles in a 1920x1080 canvas in Glaxnimate, everything runs smoothly when used in Shotcut.
