File size issue

Good afternoon all, I back to the topic in the subject. Although several attempts, I’m not able to export the original video in a smaller size file yet. The original one has the properties below:
DV codec
resolution: 720x576
framerate: 25
audio channel:2
sample rate:48000
Shotcut version 22.09.23
O.S Linux

I have used the youtube preset with bad result. I have also tried to change that preset a bit according to some youtube tutorial (see Shotcut Tutorial: Best Export Settings For YouTube! - YouTube and Save/Export/Render Video in Shotcut - Easy Tutorial - YouTube) but anything changed. What’s it wrong?

Thanks. Have a nice day.

What size is it that you are looking for?
What is the duration of your video?
What was the size of the file that came out of the youtube preset?
What did you change the preset to and what size did the file come out to then?

What size is it that you are looking for? as smallest as possible but appropriate for youtube channel
What is the duration of your video? 24:53
What was the size of the file that came out of the youtube preset? 4.9 Gib (original video) vs 5.9 Gib
What did you change the preset to and what size did the file come out to then? No significant changes between the different presets

Make sure you are using the correct video mode in your project - one that closely matches the source. Otherwise, you may be increasing the resolution, which is going to make the size larger and the image softer.

I’ve got a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that DV25 was just about the only format to use Bottom Field First interlacing.

How are you converting to progressive for editing and use on YouTube?

I don’t how but it looks like the export feature works properly right now. Anyway below you can find the main current settings:

scan mode: progressive
interpolation: bilinear
codec quality: 75%
GOP: 15
B frames:1

Thanks. Have a nice day.
