Is your video VFR? (Variable Frame Rate)

Apparently Shotcut doesn’t support VFR, but it is suggested you use the hamburger menu in Properties to create an edit friendly file.

yes they are. I’ve used them before with no problem other than the picture skipping. After I exported it everything was good.
I’ve tried the variable frame rate edit but I’m not sure how to use it. Do I have to load the friendly one back into my timeline after it saves it? It doesn’t always ask me to change it even though everything is filmed on my same phone.

I’ve used VFR before too without any issues, but apparently something may have changed recently as the devs tell us that VFR is not supported.
I no longer have the same camera which produced VFR, so it’s no longer going to be problematic for me anyway

Steve’s comments about VFR is very possible and relevant.

These are just the messages reported by the engine when checking to see if a clip is variable frame rate (VFR), which the engine always does when opening a clip now (along with many other things). It does not imply that it is VFR.

We cannot tell what is wrong with the information you provided. We may never be able to tell. However, we can see that you are using Windows, some H.264 mp4 files, and exporting as H.264. Those are all very normal. You can try upgrading to the latest version to see if it helps. Quite likely you did something in your project that you did not tell us about. Try simplifying things. Try opening a clip and simply exporting it without adding it to the timeline.
