Hi there. I do not know how to caracterize my problem. I searched the forum but could not find any answer.
My edited multitracks video is less than 30 minutes, but the exported video is more than 4 hours in length (only black after the edited video).
What may have caused this? (the export took ages)
Is there a setting to adjust?
I looked at the timeline and there is nothing on any track after my video ends.
I used the default export settings for a MP4.
Thanks for your help from a new user!
Show a screenshot of the end of your timeline. If the time strip continues beyond what you think is the end, then it is not the end. Here is what that normally looks like:
See how the strip (a darker gray) ends on the last clip?
If for some reason you cannot find the extraneous clip that makes it very long upload your project file to a reply here. There is an upload button in the text box toolbar that looks like an up-arrow.
Thanks for the quick reply, Dan!
Here is a screenshot of the end of the timeline.
The middle strip is colored because the track is selected.
Is there a way to select NO track? Is that the cause of my problem? Or could it be a filter I used?
I am using Shotcut version 25.03.29 on Win11.
The screenshot is not adequate. It does not clearly show the time strip because the toolbar is missing. See mine?

No, it is the current track and unrelated. Neither is a filter.
OK, yes, I can see the time strip extends beyond the last clip you show. You need to go the end of the time strip and zoom in. It might be so small that you cannot see it when the timeline is zoomed out so much. The time strip is the row between the toolbar and the video tracks. Press the + several times to zoom in. Press the End to go to the end of the timeline. Do you see a very short clip? It might only be one frame long! If not zoom in more.
You were absolutely right! There was a small tiny clip (still picture) at the end. The colored strip has disappeared! Thanks!
