My main OS is Linux and my server is Windows 11 Pro, I use VNC to remote into the server. Usually I just use shotcut on my main Linux PC, this time I decided to remote into my server and edit a video on there and once done I hit the encode button. I made changes to my Linux PC and needed to restart, I disconnect from VNC and restart my Linux PC. After my Linux PC restarted I remote back into the server to find that the progress is stuck at 99% …I waited for hours and it was still stuck, this is repeatable, I tried it more than one time, it stalls and fails to finish encoding the video any time I disconnect from VNC. Why does it do that?, any other task would just keep going…
And you know a thing or two about perversions. You even outdid me in this. There could be a hundred reasons, for example, the files are on the computer that you are rebooting or a Windows bug.
