I didn’t find a way to trigger this bug every time. This is an intermittent issue.
This is an old issue. I’m not sure if it was reported before.
Anyways, once in a while, while trying to save a Filter Set (for example) the small pop-up window asking you to type a name opens, but is hidden under the main Shotcut window.
A workaround:
- Hover the cursor on the Shotcut icon in the task bar.
- Close the pop-up.
- Minimize the Shotcut window.
- Bring back the Shotcut window.
- The pop-up should open correctly now.
Are you running in full screen mode, not maximized, but the one in the View menu?
No, I never use the View menu Full Screen mode.
OK, our code asks the library to open the window on top and modal (cannot interact with other windows in the app) until closed. Might be a bug in the library on Windows. Maybe fixes itself when that gets upgraded.

Also on Windows here and I get this from time to time, but mostly when saving a new preset (it’s the same type of window I believe).
My workaround is the same except no need to minimize shotcut, I either do the X on the taskbar or sometimes simply pressing “Esc” closes the hidden dialog then the next time it shows up fine.
