I am using Version 25.12.31.
When I delete a transition the gap that should remain closes up. How do I stop this occurring?
Something I didn’t mention: my transitions are between two jpg images, not videos.
I have a work-around. If you drag the right-hand end of the transition to the left until you reach the left edge of the transition, the transition object disappears. In the history it says Transition removed, and that is what has happened, so my problem goes away.
I don’t think that is a workaround so much as it is intended behavior. We can’t make everyone happy with the default behavior for lifting a transition. There was a whole discussion about this not long ago:
To delete a transition without removing the gap, I use this workaround:
Grab the transition clip and drag it to a nearby empty space in the timeline. In case of a 1-track timeline, create a temporary new track.
Then, use the Lift button or the keyboard shortcuts Z or Delete to delete the transition clip.
