How can I copy or cut a clip from the Timeline and move it to the Playlist?
Select the clip you want from the timeline with your mouse so that it’s highlighted then go to the Playlist menu and right under it you will see “+” and “-” icons just like the ones you see above the Timeline. Click the + button that is right under the Playlist menu and it will add the clip from the Timeline to the Playlist.
That has never worked for me. For instance, right now when I try a box pops up to Set Duration and if I click it a new item marked is added to the Playlist.
Using v 18.07.02.
That’s the “Properties” button not the “+” that is in the Playlist menu. Hit Playlist and right under it you will see the + button.
Shotcut has since been updated to v18.08.14
Thanks, but I know the difference bw Properties and Playlist. I was definitely pressing the + on the Playlist.
Before pressing the + be sure, that the clip from the timeline has been opened in the source window.
Select the clip on the timeline. Press C or CTRL C to copy or CTRL X to cut. Click the source tab, the clip will be copied to the source viewer. Then press the “+” to add the clip to the playlist.
Sorry. I forgot that after you highlight the clip, you need to either right click and select “Copy” or right click and select “Cut” then you click the + button that is right under the Playlist menu and it will add the clip from the Timeline to the Playlist.
