Is there a better way to colour a Mask Simple Shape than to use above it the filter Colour Grading?
Colour Grading has no list of colours like Text Rich

I can not belive, that there is no better way to choose colours for anything?!

Because you are using the wrong tool for the job. Color Grading cannot have a list of colors because it operates relatively; it does not draw a color. I am not exactly sure what you are doing here, but I recommend to use Generate > Drawing/Animation to make a call-out. It is easier than trying to illustrate with video filters.

I take since 2023 Filter Set | Info/Speech Bubble Generator from MusicalBox and think it is much easier than any (in my Eyes very complicate) work with Glaximate.

The only bad thing with the filter Set is the choosing of colours.

Now i made some ready coloured Filter Sets. That is ok for me.
Is there any possibility, to save a Filter Set with a colour clip (3 Seconds) together?
For now, i have to generate a colour clip and after that to put a Filter Set on it.
Or i copy such a info-clip from one .mlt to an other.

Only an idea.

Hi @thegrobi, there is a way! It’s a bit of a workaround, but you use a Text:Rich filter! Blank with no text. Once you’ve added that filter, set the background colour to whatever colour you want, and make it fit the whole screen.

It shows a completely coloured background, and shows up as a filter in your Filter Set.

Nice trick. But the color is not applied to the arrow of the speech bubble.

Ah, OK @musicalbox. But I interpreted @thegrobi’s question as asking if he could place a background full screen colour behind the speech bubble, not as part of the speech bubble. I could be wrong though.

I stand corrected, @thegrobi and @musicalbox. I just tested it out and the Text:Rich filter background colour doesn’t seem to lie behind the info speech bubble. It just obscures it. Please ignore this advice!

It depends where you put the Text: Rich filter.
Works for me when it is on top of the list.

I think our wires are crossed a little, @musicalbox. Just to confirm, I was trying to add the Text:Rich filter behind your speech bubble, which doesn’t work, wherever the Text:Rich is in the filter list, because of the way your (ingenious) speech bubble has transparency, I think.

Your screen capture doesn’t use the speech bubble, just a rectangle, so yes, it works fine that way. I guess it depends, then, if @thegrobi wants a speech bubble or if a rectangle will do.

I’m sorry for not being clear enough.

I’ve already saved the filter set (Speech_Bubble_Richtext).
After I edited it to 3 various colours it works fine.

However, to use it, I always have to generate a clip first: either a coloured one or a transparent one.
I have 2 different Sets:
1 work with transparent generated clip and 2 with coloured generated clip.
I then have to apply the filter set to such a generated clip.

I’d like to avoid these various steps and have the generated clip + the filter set applied to it available for use anywhere, e.g. under the name: “3_Seconds_Clip_Bubble_Richtext”

To be fair, you don’t really need to repeat these steps each time you want a speech bubble clip in a project.
Once you have created one in the timeline, you can copy it and paste it anywhere else. Or copy it and move it to the Playlist and then drag it to the timeline from there.

That is the way i do since 2023.
But i edit new Badminton-Streams nearly every day.
To copy complete bubble-clips, i have to open an old stream, from wich i know, it has a bubble-clip inside.

I know, that is not too timeexpensive. But i thougt, it could be even simpler.
For example, a folder containing the complete bubble-clip and other things I use quite often.

The only way I know to save a clip is:

  • In the Timeline: right-click + copy a clip.

  • Open a note app (Like Windows Notepad).

  • Right-click + Paste.
    You’ll end up with something like this:

  • Save as a .txt file on your computer.

When you need to add a Speech Bubble clip in any project:

  • Open the .txt file.
  • Select and copy the content
  • In Shotcut position the Playhead where you wan to paste the clip and press the Paste button.

The clip will be added to the track with all its parameters: Clip color, clip length, filters, etc…
It’s not something you can simply drag from a folder to the timeline, but maybe that will work for you better than reopening an old project and copy the clip from it.

Thank you very much for all the information.

I’ve now come up with the following ‘custom solution’:
I’ll create an easily accessible folder above my collection of over 500 video streams.
In this folder, I’ll create an .mlt file, into which I’ll put all sorts of bubble clips and anything else I need.
I’ll then simply copy whatever clips I require from this .mlt file.
