I have been using Shotcut for a while now and I found the new version so I installed the installer. When I opened up the installer there was an error saying ‘Error opening file for writing C:\Program Files\Shotcut\qmelt.exe.’ I tried deleting it and it says I don’t have permission when I try to delete it, I can’t install it if it is not deleted.
There might be an instance of qmelt.exe running. Open the task manager find qmelt.exe in the processes tab, end the process and see if you can install Shotcut.

Reboot and try again.
i had the same problem, but then i ended all things in task manager that had to do with shotcut and it worked
