Can I 'type in' exact values of which second a given text should appear at?

Hi everyone!
I want some texts to be displayed in my video created in Shotcut. How can I ‘type in’ exact values of which second a given text should appear at?
Can I open a given text’s properties and set ‘start time’ and ‘end time’ manually? (e.g. type in: start at 0:12 end at 1:05 ?)

Also, can I have automatically a setting that all new texts that I create will gradually fade out 2 seconds before disappearing?

Shotcut does not have a way to type in the start/end times.

I can not think of a way to do this automatically.

But here is an idea that could save you some steps:

  1. Use Open->Other->Text
  2. Enter some placeholder text
  3. Add the text clip to a track in your timeline
  4. Add the fade in and fade out filters to whatever durations you want
  5. Each time you want to add text, copy the placeholder clip and paste it. Then, change the text.
