When using blend mode, I don’t seem to quite understand how to apply it and how each mode works. I don’t need a long explanation as to how to use it, I just need a better understanding.
The ‘blend’ mode only works if at least one visible track is under the track with the ‘blend’ settings.
Then try different modes and see what happens.

I’ve made use of this in the past when photo-editing, but it applies equally well for video editing too. All of the blend modes Shotcut supports are described here.
