Every time I split at playhead, the audio glitches out at the split when playing through it.
Is it just a hardware problem and is there a way to fix it?

The software is challenged with the audio format in this file. I suggest you convert the file using Properties > menu > Convert to Edit-friendly… You will have to open the new file it creates and replace the old clip on the timeline with it manually.

Also, it might just be a preview glitch. Make a test export and see if the problem shows up in export as well.
