Audio goes out of sync on import

I am using Windows 10 pro on an Inspiron 14 7000 laptop with Intel 1.6 GHz processor and 8 GB RAM.

The original video is fine before I import it.

The videos are between 1 hour and 1 1/2 hours long

When I import them into Shotcut the sound desyncs

Are suggestions how to stop this ?

Hello I started using Shortcut to edit my YouTube videos before uploading them and have found that even though the video and audio are synced on the timeline. Once they have been exported, the audio becomes out of sync more and more as the clip plays. The footage in question is about 53 minutes long and I have tried the MP4 and YouTube presets, also using some custom ones but the audio keeps going out of sync. If you have a sync problem in Shotcut preview, then I think “import” is somewhat accurate although technically it is merely opened instead of imported. If that is the case, then you can to try to convert it using Properties > menu > Convert to Edit-friendly… You need to open the new file; it does not open automatically. You can double-click the completed conversion job to open it.

Thanks for your reply. Bizarrely today when I go to try your suggestion I opened up the video and it was all synced perfectly. Maybe my machine is struggling to cope with the job. ???
