I used Magix Video de Luxe in a version of around 2008(?) and the exported video quality in h.264 with “good quality” settings were terrible and obviously visible, esp. in fast movements (kind of heavy noise).
That was the main reason for me to look for something else and i am perfectly happy with Shotcut so far.
I did a quick test of quality export settings and its relation to file size and render time. It seems for my eyes and monitor (thinkpad P50 laptop for now) 50% seems o.k. for me
