Hi,
I use the GPS Text filter to overlay running data on my videos, and I really enjoy this feature.
I use the keyword :
#gps_speed_raw decimals 1# km/h
to display speed.
And as the filter documentation MLT - Documentation says, there are ways to convert the value in m|meter, km|kilometer*, mi|mile*, ft|feet, nm|nautical*;
speed: ms|m/s|meter, km|km/h|kilo, mi|mi/h|mile, ft|ft/s|feet, kn|nm/h|knots,
mmin|m/min, ftmin|ft/min.
However, there seems no way to convert it into space : min/km
In the running community, speed is always expressed as pace (min/km or min/mile) — meaning how many minutes it takes to run one kilometer. This is the standard format used by
all major running apps and devices (Strava, Garmin, Coros, Apple Watch, etc.).
Feature request:
Could you add a pace display option in the GPS Text filter? For example:
A new variable like %pace% displaying the value in mm:ss/km or mm:ss/mi
- Or a format option to convert the existing speed variable into pace
This would make the GPS Text filter much more useful for running and trail videos, which are a very popular content category.
Thank you for considering this request, and thank you for the great work on Shotcut!
